Turning My Hot Girl Walks into Hot Girl Runs
cues music 🎶I’m a runner, I’m a trackstar!!
Hey there! You might be wondering, "What is Krissy talking about?" Well, let me take you on a little journey.
I've been on a fitness journey, on and off, for the last seven years. I've had personal trainers, joined various gyms, and tried YouTube fitness videos—if it's fitness-related, I've probably done it. This year, one of my goals was to be consistent with moving my body. I used to take pictures and hate the way I looked, and even more, the way I felt. My height may have hidden some of the weight, but I knew I wasn't happy with it.
I started this year by aiming for 10,000 steps a day. While I’ve been pretty consistent with that, I also incorporated personal training again, starting in March. This journey has become somewhat of an obsession for me. I push my body with more reps or heavier weights—hating it in the moment, but loving it in the end. It's truly mind over matter.
Now, here we are in June, and I've decided to turn my hot girl walks into hot girl runs. It's another challenge. My cousin told me, "Master the thing you hate the most." For me, that was running. But I’ve realized I don’t really hate it—I just needed to learn the techniques(breathing, stretching, etc). I prefer running outdoors rather than on a treadmill. I downloaded the Couch to 5K app, and it has been interesting, to say the least. I may or may not have started out walking when it was time to run. Now, I listen and do pretty well. My goal is to run a 5K in July. Yes, I’m putting it out there so you can hold me accountable.
Running is a new level unlocked for me, and I even bought a new pair of running shoes (thanks, sis!). Who knew running could be such an expensive sport? I’ll be getting my cost per wear. While I’m still training, I’m honestly not worried about the scale—I just love the way I feel now. If you have an Apple Watch, then you know the feeling of closing all your rings. I look forward to that every day!
Maybe it’s just me, but working out has significantly reduced my stress and anxiety. The goal is to become disciplined so that this becomes a lifestyle change. You will see me at 65 jogging downtown with my Bichon Frise named Miles... LOL. (I had a dog for 72 hours, but that's a story for another day.)
What are you doing to move your body daily? If nothing, that’s your business. If it’s yoga, walking, boxing, dancing, I applaud you and say keep going! Do it for you!
With love,
Krissy
